Ash’s Closet: A New Kind of Thrift Store

A new free clothing store has opened in downtown Winnipeg! Located inside Main Street Project’s shelter, Ash’s Closet allows people experiencing homelessness to browse donated clothing and choose items that reflect their personal style, all at no cost. Open weekdays, the initiative aims to bring dignity, independence, and a sense of normalcy to those who need it most.

Clothing donations can be dropped off at the rear entrance of Main Street Project’s shelter at 637 Main Street, accessible from Logan Avenue and Martha Street. Drop-off hours are Tuesday to Thursday, 9 a.m.–3:30 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m.–noon. Closed on holidays. For donation inquiries, call 204-612-8274.
